Philadelphia is the second largest city on the East Coast of the country as well as the fifth most populous city. It is also the only consolidated city-county in the state Pennsylvania. The city played an instrumental role in as it was the meeting place for the Founding Fathers who signed the Declaration of Independence. It was the first place where the very first International skyscraper was constructed in 1932. It is also home to the largest landscaped park in the world, the Fairmount Park.
The Philadelphia Police Department upholds their motto of Honor, Service and Integrity and has devised a number of programs that are designed to bring the Department closer to the community. Some of these programs include the Police Athletic League which comprises of 26 centers across the city and serves nearly 26,000 kids. The program offers a number of activities such as sports, education and recreational programs to the city's kids and all services are completely free of charge.
